At approximately 8 weeks old, the birds
are processed and vacuum sealed at a local, state inspected Amish facility. The fresh chicken is available for pickup at our farm the evening of processing. Whole frozen chickens are on a regular basis. There is no comparison between the chicken you buy at the grocery store and this pastured chicken. |

Half Hog Estimate of Total Cost = $ 405 Half Hog Avg Cost of Cut Meat = $6.75/lb Hanging Weight ~90lbs x $3.50/lb = $315 + Processing (~$90) = $405 A half hog with a hanging weight of 100 lbs would yield approximately 60 lbs of cut meat. Q. What steps occur between ordering pastured Pork and picking it up? A. After you send the completed order form with deposit to Hollen Family Farm, LLC, we will notify you of the scheduled drop off date for the processing. We will deliver your pastured pork to the agreed upon processor on the pre-scheduled date. On that scheduled date, you need to contact the processor to place your customized order. A few days later, you will receive an invoice from Hollen Family Farm, LLC for the cost of the pastured pork based on the hanging weight provided by the independent processor - minus your deposit. Please mail payment for the invoice to Hollen Family Farm, LLC. The independent processor will contact you when your pastured pork is ready for pickup. When you pick up the pastured pork, you will pay the processor separately for the processing cost. |
